MAKING ABORTION HISTORY BEGINNING TODAY

Mississippi once led the nation in legal protection for the unborn.  Though we have only one abortion clinic remain in our state, our laws protecting life need improving.  According to the recent state report card published by American’s United for Life (aul.org), Mississippi now ranks at 15 and our neighboring state Louisiana ranks  #1.  Oklahoma has moved to the #2 spot in legal protections.

There are many things that can be done to end abortion.  No one thing is the answer.  We should all work together to implement both laws that can be enforced now under the current shadow of Roe Vs Wade, and also push for laws that will challenge the status quo.  The two are not mutually exclusive -  WE CAN DO BOTH.

We often hear the discussion about the best way to end abortion.  Some say we need more people at the clinic, some say we need better laws, many say we must overturn Roe Vs Wade, some say we just need to help women, some want to show the graphic pictures and others do not, others say it is a spiritual battle that requires we reach the lost and stay out of political arena.  I believe it will take all of us working together and doing all of the above to win the culture and defend life.

Whatever you do it with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, as unto the Lord.(Luke 10:27 and Colossians 3:23-24)

HEART BEAT BILL IS ALIVE ON LIFE SUPPORT - DEAD 5-1-2012

Heartbeat was inserted into SB 2771 which is a child homicide bill called Karen’s Law.  It was designed to be sure any person who killed a child under 18 years of age would receive a minimum sentence of 30 years.  Representative Andy Gipson amended the bill to include unborn children with a heartbeat.  It passed the House overwhelmingly and is on the Senate calendar to concur or not to concur.  We are asking the Senate and it’s leader Lt. Governor Reeves to concur with the language from the House.
